How much is a presentation?    ...&....    How long is a presentation?

First and foremost, if you have serious budget constraints or are a TITLE 1 school  we can still work hard to accommodate you.   While this is Mr Youngs profession, it is widely viewed that these programs are highly beneficial to students so in a very real sense they are a community service outreach.   Mr Young is very flexible and his prices are very reasonable.   He can give a simple twenty minute talk with few display objects to a nearly two hour talk.   Prices range between 90 dollars to about 320 dollars for the most typically requested presentation.   We have a nominal .55 cent per mile  gas/mileage fee that averages about 18 dollars within the DC-MD-VA area.    Payment should be sent via postal mail.  Mr Young does not accept checks in hand because he is often traveling from place to place and checks have, in very busy moments,  become misplaced.

Is it hands-on?.... can the students touch or handle the objects you brought?

Presentations are initially delivered with Mr Young speaking to students while handling many antiquities and replicas so students can see how they work.   However, students are also invited to come up and see the objects as well.   At the end of most shows, Mr Young (with teacher assistance) invites the classes to line up and walk along the display tables.  Students are invited to "lightly" touch and handle most pieces.

What do you need from my us / my school to deliver a presentation?

There are several overall things we need from you.   These include the most obvious such as making sure the office staff knows all the details as to what room Mr Young will be giving the show, how long it will last, the key classes involved etc--basic stuff like that.

---TABLES:  logistically we need about 20 feet of sturdy table space (tables that don't have wobbly legs and
can support the equivalent of a 125 person sitting on them...don't know if the table is strong
enough?.... well try sitting on the table!)

---ROOM SIZE:  the room itself should be at least 25 feet wide...we strongly recommend 30 feet or more of
width.    And of course  you need enough room depth for your students to sit comfortably.

---SEATING:   we don't recommend chairs for a number of reasons, mainly because its actually harder for the
students to  see.   And Mr Young has noticed a very real phenomenon that students tend to
pay more attention when seated on the ground.

--PARKING SPACE:   Mr Young needs a spot to park his truck very near to the unloading doors (which should                                  ideally represent the easiest path in the school to the presentation room.)
