HOW YOU CAN HELP EDUCATION
I am sometimes asked why I don't spend time applying for a non-profit status or apply for corporate grant.
Simple answer: time and red tape.
In other words, what I do is a bit unusual and does not immediately fit into the 'educational program' concept as defined by many large corporations (unfortunately). Secondly, the time involved in paperwork is often so excessive as to be practically impossible to keep up with for every itemized expenditure... which of course leads to the third reason: the itemized use of funds. When researching and experimenting to make some new reproduction, budgetting in exact figures can be difficult from project to project. read more here Donated funds are used in the following ways:
1] advertising/ outreach costs
2] purchasing visual aids for the shows or raw materials to make reproductions with
3] travel expenses
4] funding shows for lower income schools.
Because of these reasons stated above it becomes too restrictive and cumbersome when dealing with stringent official grants from larger corporations. Instead. I rely on smaller businesses and individual donors as private benefactors. Below are ideal amounts, followed by my appreciation in return. Thousands of teachers, principals and parents visit this website, so your contribution and de facto advertisement will be seen by many local people.

More than anything, the most important personal goal of my programs is to inspire students to find some aspect of history, be it cultural history, technological history however remote or seemingly insignificant and to compare it to the modern age. What changed, what seems to be similar?
And to change attitudes toward the study of history; that history is not just the study of dates and events, kings and queens, wars and battles. Rather it can be the study of change itself, of daily life, of technological evolution and innovation, of environmental impact, of the economy.
And that historical people were fundamentally no different than ourselves, with wants and desires, capable of good and bad, full of laughter, song, and creativity.
Knowing that a student was inspired to learn more...despite what can sometimes be grueling days traveling, unloading, setting up shows and speaking several times a day....is worth it.
